What is Teeth Whitening?

When your teeth are yellowed, dulled and stained, you may not like the way that you look. Fortunately, we offer a range of high-quality professional whitening that can lift and dissolve these stains in an efficient manner. Whitening is effective on natural teeth and can do wonders when it comes to improving your appearance and even turning back the hands of time. Our in-office and at-home whitening options make it more convenient than ever to achieve the results you want.

Why is Teeth Whitening needed?

The reason you may need or want whitening is because you’re tired of the way that your teeth look. You are looking for a dramatic and long-lasting change that will improve your smile. Some of the reasons your teeth may become dulled and yellow include:

  • Smoking and chewing tobacco
  • Aging
  • Certain medications
  • Drinking coffee, tea and cola
  • Eating dark, staining foods (berries, chocolate)
  • Poor oral hygiene

Who is a good candidate for Teeth Whitening?

Whitening affects only natural teeth, so it may not have an impact on restorations within the mouth. These include veneers, crowns, bridges, dentures and bonding. However, for patients wanting a long-term solution to many of their smile woes, whitening is an effective option that takes a short period of time. We offer several different whitening choices to make it easier than ever for you to get that white, bright smile that you want.

What happens during the Teeth Whitening process?

The whitening process starts with a consultation. We want to make sure that your teeth are healthy enough to undergo whitening. If you have restorations, whitening will more than likely have no impact on the way that they look. Our in-office whitening involves placing a gel on the teeth and using a bright light to accelerate results. Your teeth are whiter and brighter in just 60 minutes. For our at-home whitening, impressions are taken to make custom fitted trays that will be used in conjunction with a whitening gel provided to you at your appointment.
