Dentistry from the Heart

dentfromtheheartOn Saturday, September 21th, 2013, 380 Family Dentistry is again teaming up with the non-profit organization Dentistry From The Heart to organize our third annual Free Day of Dentistry. With the rising cost of medical treatment and the economic downturn, more and more people are having problems affording dental care. Dr. Campbell has recruited the best doctors and staff in the area to volunteer for this big event. On Saturday September 21th, we will be spreading the smiles bright and early. Registration begins at 6:30am and patients will be seen starting at 7:00a.m on a first come, first serve basis. The first 100 patients to register will receive dental care absolutely free.

“My wife and I believe that if every healthcare professional would give even one day a year of their time back to the community, we could solve the healthcare crisis in this country. Over the last couple years Dentistry from the Heart has allowed us to impact the lives of so many patients and families. This has become an annual event for us and we hope to see it continue growing to support the community that has given so much support to us.” -Dr. Campbell

We look forward to seeing you at our third Dentistry From The Heart Event. Remember to be at our Prosper office before 6:30 am for registration, see below on how to receive treatment. In the past, patients have arrived as early as 10pm Friday night, so please plan accordingly. Please visit our partner’s website (www.DentistryFromTheHeart.org) for information on more events around the country.

Thank you to our sponsors and supporters who help make this event possible. Your ongoing support allows us to spread smiles throughout our community. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor please feel free to contact our office and find out how.

What is Dentistry from the Heart?

Dentistry From The Heart is a registered non-profit organization who has helped over 50,000 patients and has given away over 12 million dollars in dental care. This year is Dentistry from the Heart’s thirteenth year of helping individual dentists and practices across the country host their own Free Day of Dentistry.

What dental care is offered at 380 Family Dentistry’s DFTH Event?

Dentistry From The Heart events provide free extractions, fillings or cleanings. Given the influx of what can be hundreds of individuals on a given day, only these three procedures are possible.

How can I receive treatment at this event?

All that is required for treatment at 380 Dental’s DFTH event is being 18 years old. The first 100 participants are eligible for the Free Day of Dentistry. Since we have a high number of expected attendees, we recommend arriving early. Last year we had people arrive here as early as 10pm the previous day.

Can my kids receive free dental care?

Dentistry From The Heart members provide free dental care services for adults 18+. Give Kids a Smile, another national dental nonprofit, provides children 18 and under with free dental care during the month of February. For more information please google “Give Kids a Smile”.

What if I need additional dental care?

Dentistry From The Heart events are not able to provide for all manner of dental care services. However, we recommend that patients requiring additional treatment explore contact with local free clinics in their area. You can get a list of these from the Collin County offices (http://www.co.collin.tx.us/healthcare_services/indigent.jsp).

Another course of action for low cost care is to contact the local dental school in Dallas, Baylor College of Dentistry.
